As an adult, I spent much of my free time “studying automisanthropology”, as I call it:  The study of why I am such a horrible person.  Eventually I found out!  It turns out that there is a conflict between my primate instincts and my rational mind. My instincts wanted to compete, my mind wanted to cooperate. So which ever of them I was doing, my other half sabotaged it.

Lately I have been looking into new structures of the psyche which will function better in a modern society where we don't need to fight cave bears or duel over mating rights.  I am fairly optimistic that such new structures will become common over the next five or ten generations.  I am currently looking for working prototypes that work on a scale larger than 1 person.

I find that sometimes Lao Tzu sums up my thoughts better than I can.  Despite this, I intend to continue to be a Christian.  I made a pact with Jesus when I was in despair and no one else offered a helping hand.  He has kept his part and then some.  Besides, I like Jesus.  It's some of his fanboys that give me the creeps.

Apart from this, and being unimaginably single for life, I hold a normal job and rent a normal house and check my mailbox each day like an ordinary human.  Nobody knows I'm a weirdo until they talk to me and realize that I listen.
